I’ve been picking this album up and putting it down unplayed since I bought it. This afternoon was the time to play it I guess. Now I’m wondering why I waited.
Yes his voice is no match for hers apart from the world weary tired time to his voice nicely melds with hers and creates a unique sound. At least he isn’t spending all his free time revisiting the past all day every day.
I think what makes this work as it is so obviously a work of fans. As was their first collaboration. I still want the Band of Joy album with Patty Griffin as well, although I’d probably have to take a second mortgage, they make a nice triad.
